What's the tiny capsule that appears to contain grease used for in the tune-up kit. My shop manual makes no mention. The point contains are supposed to be super clean .... right? The manual does mention to "NOT" add any oil/grease to the little pad that rides along the shaft. .... So what do I grease with this tiny thing?

Thanks in advance. BTW - this is my first ever tune-up. I'm rebuilding a 1969 25hp Evinrude.

The grease is supposed to go on the cam for the points rubbing block. The pad will distribute it around the cam.

I like to put just a little dollop right in the crook of the fiber rubbing block. Not so much or so high that it actually touches the cam but just enough that capillary action will keep the rubbing block from getting dry.

A customer came in and bought a set of points. He asked what that capsule was for, and my co-worker said with a perfectly straight face: "You swallow that pill 15 minutes before installing the points. It will dialate your eyeballs so you can set the points without a feeler gauge".

Never did hear how well it worked.
