Grease gun

I pushed my grease gun on the grease point applicator and I couldn't get it apart after greasing it, so I pulled on it and the insert point came off the engine casing. The one that came out of the engine is located on top for the handle/throttle, I think. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix the problem I now have?

An easyout might be the way to get it off. I cannot imagine that the fittings on there too tight.
