I prefer the anti seize, I've used both and found that the anti seize is still there when I remove prop, the grease is sometimes gone and more difficult to remove.

I only tried the water/heat resistant quicksilver grease. It is still on shaft when season ends ( I remove my propeller every year )

What is anti-seize ??

GDANE,
Hello, anti-seize is a grease like compound that has a soft metal base such as copper or nickle. The metal base helps to adhere to to surfaces. It works great on trailer lug nuts, marine sparkplug threads etc.
Good Luck,
Little Bear

Any automotive or industrial supplier. Common name around here is "Coppercoat"

I prefer grease, just because when handling props, I get no-seize on everything! there is one more point to address about anti seize..there are copper, nickel and aluminum base metals...using copper base on stainless/aluminum assemblies in salt water is asking for increased corrosion...limit your dissimilar metals....

Ditto ODDDD1

always wondered about that.....I use grease, but was always tempted to try coppercoat. I didn't due to this exact concern.....

Ditto ODDD1 and Schematic. Copper is not good around aluminum and stainless outboards. Take a look at your owners manual, most advise against mounting an outboard anywhere near copper-such as copper bottom coats.

Re: Grease or anti-seize compound?

Graphite is another compound that will cause severe corrosion when used with aluminum, and is advertised in some anti-sieze products.

Marine grease will last a season on a propshaft whether in salt or fresh water. Do not use an automotive grease.
