Can I use the same marine grease as I use in my trailer bearings for misc. use in lubricating outboard parts (drive shaft ends, etc.) Or is there some specific greese I should use for motor parts?

Re: Grease Questions

i always have. do not put grease on the end of the drive shaft, just the splines. it can cause a seal and make the shaft hard to get back in place.

Re: Grease Questions

Trog, I consider that grease to be superior, due to it;s resistance to water. I use a grease gun to pump up the trailer bearings and motor zerc fittings.

Merc Special Lube 101 is a bit better for lubing the steering cable end, but unsituable for other lube jobs IMHO.
