Went out on the lake yesterday and had a great time. It was beautiful out but not too crowded.

When the day was over and back docking the boat my wife got her leg severely cut on a dock post.

I was pulling in port side and the wife was ready to get on the dock. She accidentally caught the top of the post and ripped the back of her leg.

Didn't think much of it until blood was just gushing out. By the time I knew what was happening there was a crowd and she was on the ground passed out. Ambulance came and wife ended up in the surgery.

Here is a pick of the dock. the post at the end on the left is what got her leg.

Here is the post itself

Doctor took a pic of it. Graphic!!!!! Don't want to post the before.

Her leg after 60+ stitches. Severed a vein also:

best wish's to the wife and time to man up and find out what she does all day while you claim to be working. You may be shocked at how much "house work" is like real work. Hope she recovers soon

Sorry about your wife. Whoever built and owns that dock needs to know how important safe construction is; that could hurt people in a lot of different ways.

That's what the park ranger said. But none of them did.

It was a county park. So the county.

That's really a nasty wound, I hope that there are no complications and it heals right up. The problem with any public park or boat launches is that punks tear the places up. The posts probably did have caps at one point and they may not even know the posts haven't any caps now. If they did know, probably have no money in the budget.

One of my favorite lakes got a new dock made of composite wood, really nice top of the line dock until idiots started a fire on it.

Thanks for all the support guys!

Wife is pretty strong and the best part is that she is also in the medical field. She knows what has to be done with her wound. Bad part is I pretty much have to do it with her instructing me. First cleaning this morning wasn't bad. Bandaged taped and it looked good. Tonight I just about vomited when I was doing it. I just can't stomach the sight of ripped up flesh.

I wish your wife the best, yes they should have had caps. Most likley someone removed them. Give the county a call, and send them the pics. I bet they will have caps very soon, screwed down too. They may also close the ramp, until repairs can be made.

Best wishes to the Admiral on a speedy recovery. Messes up a guy's world when the brains of the operation are laid up, doesn't it? ;)
