So I have this 2011 Ford Ranger and I have our local dealer service it. I take it in a few months ago for it's 16000 km service. I get it back and it's got this big old greasy hand print on my drivers inside panel and the rubber door bumper is ripped off. So I left it alone and brought it in early January for it's 24000km service. I tell them about the hand print and rubber bumper. So I get it back, the rubber bumper is put back in place and the hand print has been cleaned. So I'm happy until I see the Invoice. They charged me 2 dollars for shop supplies to clean off the grease mark. I'm floored. Now don't get me wrong, I can afford 2 bucks. But it's the principal. 2 bucks for cleaning supplies used to take the grease mark that they left me. Well I am glad they didn't charge me for the grease from the mechanics hand. I guess there is a bright light.

I would say the guy who did your service was probably in a bit of a hurry.

This type of thing is the number one complant in auto service.

I had a chevy that the plastic headlight lenses started to microcrack all over, being over a thousand bucks each I took it in to see if they'd swap it under warranty, to my surprise they did. And they noted and replaced a leaking shock in the back. When I got the car back I drove about 200 feet and noted a clunking noise, turned around and went back in and also noticed the front bumper cover wasn't actually tightened down along with the shock that wasn't tight. oops.

Years ago I had 5 new windows put into my house. The installers came and went while I was at work. The house was left exactly as they found it except for the five expertly installed windows. I was thrilled. A year later I had a furnace installed. The installers had to go up on the room to line the chimney. Access to my upper roof was gained via a window out to the lower roof and then a step ladder to the upper one. Well these bozos left black hand and foot prints EVERYWHERE from the third floor down to the basement (the hallways were all freshly painted white). It was ridiculous. It was almost like they went out of their way to touch and step on everything on the way down. They had to pay a cleaning company to clean it all up. At least they did a heck of a job on the furnace and duct work.

oil burner? doesn't surprise me but doesn't mean they shouldn't have cleaned up after themselves either. those liners are a little hard to coax into place sometimes.

i drive a government patrol vehicle for work and had a 2 way radio system installed by a communications company. I didnt mind the 2 hrs labour but the bill included $8.50 for 3 ft of wire and $10. shop supplies . I asked about that and was told it`s standard for hand cleaner and rags and the 2 wire connectors and 3 plastic wire ties........talk about a rip off.
