just joined the forums here. checking things out and share my expertise and experiences for the benefit of all,
and for my first bout of advice to everyone, dont get in shallow water and suck up sand or even hit that sand bar you didnt know was there.
it can tend to ruin your day.

Welcome to iboats!

Now that we have that out of the way :D , do you need help with a propeller, entire drive or did you suck enough sand and hit hard enough to need a prop, a drive and an engine? When was the last time you saw a cruiser going about 50 MPH and stop suddenly? :p :)

St Croix River south of Hudson, WI. All three outdrives and a very nice "go fasty" high on a mud flat. Probably 10 years ago.

Lake Lanier, GA twenty years ago. Completely clear of the water on a small island just down from Big Creek boat ramp. This scene was surpassed only by a 25 footer minus a trailer sitting across two lanes of an interstate highway blocking traffic. Be safe!

Welcome, I dont think Engines like sand bars! They tend to clog the water intake, which in turns causes engines to loose their temp(er) and get hot under the covers! I think thats where that old song - "Smoke on the water- (fire in the bilge)" came frome. they tell you to have a fire extinguisher for a reason!

heh, I got lucky, it only chewed up the prop, next time I will learn not to follow the pontoon. I was going around him at about 15 MPH and I heard the dreaded crunching rock sound.
changed the prop and away I went, everything else is fine, out of the water now and nothing got trashed.
