Is there a popular opinion on which wheel cuts 1/4 in fiberglass mat the best?

I am using an electric grinder with a wheel that is labeled for cutting metal. I saw other wheels at Lowes for cutting wood.

Metal is the one you want. it should cut it pretty close to butter. You want the cutting disc, not the grinding disc. I did use a grinding disc in my restore, but not much. Sanding (flapper) discs are best, IMO. Just don't go cheap on them. Get the zirconia discs, as they last much much longer (though still not long enough ;))

Depends on the cut you want to make. I've used the diamond blade type disc for my grinder to cut through most of the fiberglass I needed to, but if you don't want to go through the hull, then you will want something slower cutting.

There are a variety of ways to get through fiberglass, what exactly are you looking to do?

Well. I just used the metal cutting disk. Now the deck is out.

I have the deck almost squared up now to make a nice easy cut on some ply to lay down.

Thanks.
