OK = figured out my fuel rail leak, and posted the solution a few minutes ago. Now, I can't get my boat or electronics to work when I put my perko battery switch on battery two, which is what I use for my electronics and back up starting. Battery one is fine, it starts the engine and runs the electonics, but I dont get anything on battery two position on the switch. I checked battery two and it's fully charged from when I put it in there. Im thinking it's the ground wire for it to the engine block, or the perko switch went bad, but for just battery two-----I don't think so. Any ideas???
By the way, where does that wire ground to engine??? I can't see it from where Im looking....
Thanks for any input..appreciate it!!

Do you have the negative posts of both batteries connected together with a jumper wire?

No - I don't think there is a jumper wire from the neg side of one battery to the other....
I'll check, if there's not one, should I put one in????

Thank you

Yes, the negative posts need to be connected together and you want to use a wire as big as the cable going to your motor. A #6 gauge wire at a minimum I would think.

Good luck and hopefully this will be an easy fix.

Thanks again guys, especially CATwentyTwo, for the advice of checking to see if the ground terminals on both batteries were connected with a jumper. I found a loney black wire that was connected the the ground terminals on the SAME battery. Guess my son in law didn't read the labels correctly when he installed the batteries. That was it. Thanks again folks, much appreciated.
