Grounding problem?

Hello all, I have an '87 Sunbird 215 with a 454 Magnum. My problem is with the gauges. Tilt/Trim gage doesn't work - sender and limiter are bad, all corroded, I know what needs to be replaced here. Water temp gauge - works great then will jump to max temp, then fall back down. Oil press - no problems. MPH - the hose that connects to the white sender on the transom is bad so need to replace it. RPM - Does not work at all. I turn on the key and it jumps to 0 but doesn't move when the engine is started. Volts - works perfect, right where it needs to be about 14 when running, 12 when not. Finally, the fuel gage - turn the key on and it jumps to below E - pulled the sender and tested it - resistance changed as I moved the float up and down so it seems to be working. Is it as simple as a ground wire somewhere or are there more than one place I should look. I have the shop manual with the wiring diagram but if anyone has any direction where I can start I would be very greatful! Thanks for your time and help.

Re: Grounding problem?

The plug is in great shape, all the wires are good and there is no corrosion issues or frayed wires. I made sure it was seated in nice and tight. They all have worked before.
