Good day to all
I was at a buddies shop haveing a couple cold pops while he was doing some work to his truck. He was changing out the batteries which were still had a reading of 12.6 volts. I started to think I would grab a couple for the boats I have when he said you can purchase them for 79.00 plus tax.
The batteries are group 31s 1150CA 950CCA 200/RC sealed lead acid. Made in china/tiwan/korea don't know for sure other than it is from the far,far east.

Now my question is I can get three of these for the same price as one top line optima.
Would I be wasting my hard earned cash.

Thanks to all.

I am tired of walking on water, need sun.

Re: Group 31s battery

Just because it is a group 31 battery does not mean it is correct for your application. If these are deep cycle batteries and you intend to use them for a trolling motor or house (accessory) batteries, you can use them. If they are standard automotive batteries and you intend to use them for a trolling motor or house batteries you would not be making a wise choice. If they would be used for starting batteries they will work. Just remember, you generally get what you pay for. Chinese quality is very questionable in nearly everything I've tried.

Likewise, you need to know what chemistry and construction they are. Flooded and Gel can use most popular marine charging systems, but AGM requires a very different charge profile, or will suffer a very short life.

I never had much confidence in offshore manufacturers either but it was one of those too good to be so where better place to ask then right here.

This forum is great, I have found it to be a must check in on a daily bases.

Thanks to all.

If you can find a AC Delco Voyager battery buy it.

I have a group 27 I bought at Kmart 9 years ago I used on a Minnkota 55 ap.

Last summer the battery finally showed signs of petering out.
Great battery.

I just replaced a delco in my 2001 Silverado, original battery.
