grumman runabout

i have a 1966 grumman runabout ive been working on and as far as i can tell its rated for 40 hp engine i have a 1962 merc 500 50 hp. you think ill have any trouble the boat is 15 foot length and 5 foot 3 inches beam ill post more pics soon.these are pics when i brought it home. i have since built deck up front for fishing.

I'm not one to typically condone exceeding the ratings. But...in this case, if you leave it a console steer I think you'll be ok.
