GS249 Prop Question

Just got a MINT condition 80 hour GS249 with extended warranty for a "song".

Boat has the small 5.0, load is usually wife and I, full fuel and water tanks and 200 lb of personal stuff in the cabin.

Current prop is aluminum 15X19.

I know from many previous boats that stainless won't flex as much and get up on plane quicker.

We are perfectly happy getting up on plane and throttling back to 2800-2900 RPM @ 17-20 MPH.

Which prop should I choose?

Pitch & Size?

Any links to "deals" are most appreciated!:)

I keep my eyes on e-bay almost daily now.

I don't want to part with $459 on a new prop:eek:

Thanks in advance for any information.

Re: GS249 Prop Question

I have a 2001 GS249 with a 5.7. I put a S/S 15 X 17 prop on it. It planes out quicker and add to the top end a little. I got my prop (used) on ebay for $200.00.
