Can someone recommend a make and model number for a peak reading multimeter for testing my '89 Johnson GT150 timer base?<br /><br />Thanks a bunch,<br />Duck L.

Fluke 88 will do... Also check out the Eastwood Company for there automotive multimeter it costs much less.

Hello Duck<br />any multi-meter will do ,just multiply the reading by 1.414 that value will be peak.<br /> Hope this helps.

Most Fluke or other digital meters will not accurately read the pulsing DC voltage output from a timer base, it's not AC. You need a DVI adapter or a peak reading voltmeter to do it right.
