Good evening,

I need a timer base for my '89 Johnson GT150. I think the current part number is 584363. Does anyone have or know of one for a reasonable price?

Thanks,
Duck L.

Re: GT150 Timer base

Duck Loads,
I just pulled up some of these old threads in a search for timer bases. I am curious as to how you determined your timer base was bad, what symptoms was your motor showing and did the new timer base fix it? Did you replace any other parts along with the timer? I'm going through this with my '89 Evinrude XP150 and am just looking for whatever info I can get my hands on to confirm my suspicions about my timer base. Thanks!!!

Duck.... Just so you know you're not being ignored. The original OMC part number for your timer base was 583853 and was superseded up to the number you stated of 584363. I checked my remaining stock and sorry to say, I do not have one.

Re: GT150 Timer base

Joe, not sure if you noticed, but Duck Load's thread is a couple years old. I'm definitely curious though, as I'm pretty sure I need a timer base for my E150STLCEM. Most places I'm looking show a R583853 (Rapair part#?). Do you know if this number is still what I should be looking for if I go aftermarket or do you recommend me only replacing with an OEM 584363? Many thanks!!
