Guages not working

So, when I switched from the 86 Mariner to the 82 Merc 115, I swapped the control units as well. The older unit (commander) has the same plug for the guages, but the guages are not working. They don't seem to be getting power. Where should I start? I have a seloc manual, but it doesn't have much on the control box wiring. If all else fails, I could run the guages switched from the battery, but would rather use the harness that comes with the control box.
Thanks

Re: Guages not working

You might open up the MerControl and see if the ign accessory wire goes to the Tacho plug. Maybe it broke?

Re: Guages not working

Does anyone havea diagram of the wiring for this control box. The Seloc manual I have doesn't have a specific picture for this year control. If I unbolt the box, I need to know what I'm looking for. I'm guessing this is the most likely problem.

Pulled the control box and figured it out. The purple wire was broken off of the pin. Fixed it and guages are working perfect.
