guages problems

Just put in a tach and volt gauge on my Mariner 50hp outboard. Hooked up the tack through the throttle control box with a plug in cable. I beleive all wires are hooked up correctly? The volt gauge is tied into the fuse block one lead to + the other to - side of terminals. <br />Question: Both gauges are not reading anything. What might I be missing or doing worng? Need some help here, thanks
