A friend welded up some nice guide on posts for my trailer, I'm wondering how 'tight' they should be against the boats hull. Its a roller trailer so boat can only be off center a few inches before strakes miss the rollers....hate look when its a little unbalanced anyway.

Should I have a little 'tension' from each side with the guide ons?....not sure if that would actually help. Thinking if guides just touch or are a little loose if they flex a little when loading in a side current/wind their useless. I can always re-adjust if necessary but curious on what others here found best.

Re: Guide-Ons

I keep them Just tight enough that the boat will center it self when its winched up

If there to wide they they dont do anything and if there to tight its just going to be hard to get the boat through them

tommays
