the Gulf coast is beautiful. you just have to stay on top of the weather. the Gulf is shallow for it's size, a storm can make it just as nasty, as it is beautiful.
Heading to Orange Beach in less than 2 weeks. Wont be in a boat, but my toes will be buried in the white sand. We rent a condo on the beach. Try to make it an annual trip. We used to go to Talladega first b/4 they moved the race weekend to a later date. Only can stay for a week. Have to be back home for the snowplowing season(and deer hunting). It's gorgeous down there. Our favorite destination......
Hi Bill, we live over in Fairhope and spend a lot of time between Mobile Bay and Pensacola. We spend a lot of time on Ole River, Robinson Island and Pirates Cove is a blast. Used to spend a lot of time over at Ft McRae, but not much now. We always make the annual trek over to Little Sabine for the Blue Angels show... and yes we were there two years ago when all hell broke loose with the weather.
Below is a pic of us on Mobile Bay a couple of weeks ago running from Ft. Morgan back to Weeks Bay and Fish River. Don't see the bay that smooth often.
i wanted to see if any of you guys from the gulf had any experience with the mississippi barrier islands. here's the link to my thread about it... http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=361376
thanks

It is a beautiful place, made 2 trips that year, 2nd time we got up early one morning, rechecked weather and rode outside to Destin and came back on the inside thru the ditch to PCB, nice trip that day.
