I have no major holes but tank leaks and has pin holes it is from 1985. Can i paint with gulvit and get about 5 years. I have looked at aftermarket tanks and there are none that fit exactly. I can downsize to an 18 gal from my 24 but the 1 1/2 filler are straight out of the top of the tank(I need the filler to have a 90 elbow. http://marine-fueltank.com/tank178.htm has an 18 but the filler needs to be rotated 90 degrees and is welded and I am loosing 6 gal of gas on a 90hp Merc inline six which drinks alot of gas in the salt water. Does anyone agree with gulvit, jb weld, epoxy resin and cloth. I need to cover my deck soon and dont want an above deck tank (no room).
