I have a problem with this motor "sometimes" not taking fuel. It will run fine for 15-20 mins, sometimes it wont even do it but, it will start acting like its starving for gas. Most of the time it will stay running if I dont go over 4-5 mph. But here is the weird part, If I wait 10-15 min, it will fire back up and run fine. I have torn the carb down 2 times and cleaned it. I replaced all the lines, filter, tank ect. I am convinced it is not a fuel problem. My question.... Isnt there a sensor that takes the motor back to idle or cuts it off if it gets too hot , if the t-stat isnt opening properly?

I am having the same type of problem with the same motor. This motor will only go 2000 rpm if it is over heated or if it has low oil pressure. If your oil pressure is too low the warning light on the front of the motor should be on. My problem is it appears to not have low pressure nor over heated. The fuel line is clear as far as I can tell. Motor starts ok but will not rev up, water is moving though it. HELP
