This was discussed here in January. Let me make it easy for those of you who have not contacted your representatives. Hit this site, and with a zip code search, you're able to find your representatives and send them an editable letter (already prepared)...in fact you can just type in your name if you want to send it as-is. I went through this process in 3 minutes, and the letter was sent to all 3 of my reps. DONE. Let's get on this fellow boaters!

The last I heard about this, the states might be expected to be responsible to handle their own enforcement of the what I call "The Bilge Law." In Minnesota, the enforcement might be limited to just the big ships into and out of Lake Superior. It would be too much to expect either the federal or state environmental agencies to collect fees from each and every small craft owner.

I've heard similar, but have seen nothing in stone and this may still be a real threat. It's worth the few minutes to act.

Yep, I already wrote my congressman anyway. Figured it couldn't hurt.
