Just reporting back about what I think/hope is the answer to my occasional water in oil syndrome.
I have a 2001 F115 that has twice now shown enough water in the oil to make it look like creamy coffee.
When it first happened about a year ago I changed the oil and the t'stat and the problen seemed to go away.
Then this spring it happened again
I've done leak down tests and they all come back with absolute minimum readings indicating that the head gasket is good.

My 115 is the maximum size for my boat and it was sitting at its lowest setting which really made the motor sit pretty low in the water IMO.
I decided to raise it up two holes also because I've been working the set up with some different props.
That was four outings ago and I haven't seen a drop of water in there since. I've also paid more attention to making sure the motor was trimmed up some when reversing in case that was a cause although I don't really know that it was.
All I know is that like others have said I don't want to see any h2o in my oil and I'm hoping I won't again.
If I do I'll keep looking for the solution.
The 115 calls for a 50C t'stat (122 F)while all others I'm pretty sure use a 60 C. (140F)
I bought a 60 C T'stat thinking I was going to give that a try but am hesitating because I figure if the engineers thought it should run at 50 for some reason I didn't want to second guess them.
Next week I'm off and plan on fishing every day:D, so I'll get a better feel on the situation.
