The coast guards were doing the inspections at the ramps and I payed with flying colors. I then put my boat on the trailer and totally forgot about the outdrive. I drove with it for about 10 feet before realizing. How bad am I screwed?

The prop is the part I would worry about. That is going to cause bad performance, vibration and you could have a bent prop shaft.

The prop still rotates smoothly and doesn't wiggle, would that indicate good prop shaft?

I am not sure what the runout is on your drive but they are fine measurements. You wouldn't see it. There is a gauge you use while turning the shaft to check how true it is.

Oh okay, dang it. I'm going to straighten the prop out and if the propshaft is indeed bent, how much $ would it take to fix it?

I bought a used prop that looked brand new, vibrated like mad on the boat. You cant just backyard hack the prop straight, you need specialized balancing equipment. Cost $150 to get my SS prop straightened and balanced.

that prop looks aluminum and aren't all that expensive. personally I would try to bend it back myself and try it in the water. if it works, great, if not buy a new one. I'm just thinking it would probably cost almost as much to get it repaired as to buy a new one. I've done minor damage to props before and bent or filed rough edges and had no issues. If you don't want to buy a new one you can still go get it repaired after your attempt failed, what have you got to lose?

Update: I used a grinder to grind the skeg smooth and hammered the prop to original shape. Would have went to a prop shop but they're all closed on Sundays and a new prop is only $120 so it was worth a shot. Rides the same and no vibration luckily. But I'll be ordering a new prop anyways because it's only $120 brand new.

An out of balance prop will ruin the bearings n your lower unit. This includes have on blade that is out of pitch. Don't use that prop again until it is fixed

Alright I'll drop it off at a prop shop this week and have them check it out and fix it although might be easier to just buy a new one.

Buy a new one and use the old as a spare..... It should be good enough to get you back to the landing if need be...

Alright I currently got the 14.5x19 quicksilver black diamond aluminum propellor 3 blade. Any recommendations for a better prop sub ~200 dollars or just get the same one?

I found a brand new one for $109

You might look for used. I have found aluminum for $40 still in the box. You might be able to find a used stainless within your budget.

I don't really have a budget but don't really see spending 4x more on a stainless steel prop when my aluminum did everything it needed to do. Also read that the aluminum will absorb more damage and can save your lower unit if you strike something.

I won't go out without a backup prop. I like the suggestions to get a new one and keep that dinged-up prop for emergencies. If you feel that prop does what you need, why not just get one exactly like it?

Stopped by at a prop shop today and they'll fix my old one for $40(no repaint).
