Someone I know took his new boat to the lake with his 3 kids. When he had backed about halfway down the ramp he decided to unhook the transom straps. As soon as he got out the suburban started rolling back down the steep ramp. By the time he got to the door and opened it, the suburban was at the end of the ramp during high water and sinking fast. He tried starting it with no results, so he got his kids out of their car seats and onto the roof. By that time water was up to the dash, and still sinking. The boat however was floating, still strapped to the trailer. But.....the plug was still out, so it was slowly going down too. He was still on the roof with his kids, who were too little to swim the 10 feet to shore. All ended well, tow truck arrived and pulled everything out.
