Hailing Nail Gun Gurus.....

Would like to invest in a pneumatic nail gun. Already have a compressor. Questions:

Are they nail size specific, or can you switch "carriages" from say 16d to 8d finish? How about roofing nails ?

Coil or straight ?

Brand preference ?
