We are going to head to Gulf shores sometime in May, and I would like to know of some good fishing(from the shore) good resturaunts, (family friendly, and MUST serve fried oysters :D ) stuff to do, places to stay. (around 75-100 bucks a night)I will have the wife and my two daughters with me, so whatever we do we need to be able to bring the kidlets with us. My 4 year old is dying to see the beach, and Gulf Shores is about the closest place to go. Thanks in advance for the replies. :)

cpj, my uncle just moved to gulf shores 2 days ago.

Must be fantastic since he just up and left his dream house up here. Beautiful house on a Northwoods Lake that is 90% stateowned and with little to no boat traffic.......It was my favorite place to go.

Hey cpj You really need to do some homework on the area. We were in Orange beach and the Pensecola Beach area about a month ago and things were still in pretty rough shape since the hurricanes. Thing may get better by May as they will be trying to be prepared for the season. Pensecola beach has virtually nothing to offer right now, very few things are open. Gulf shores did/does have a small/decent ammusement park at the end of hwy 59. There should be plenty of restaurant to eat at. The Fort Morgan (National Park) area is closed to traffic. As far as lodging goes I wont be of much help, we usually boat over to that area and stay on the boat. My favorite area over there is the Orange Beach, Perdido Key, and Pensecola Beach.

How long are you planning on staying?

cpj, What Reel Poor said about Orange Beach and Perdido, however, the area has been rearranged by two hurricanes since I've been there, so my opinion isn't worth much, sorry. :)
