Hope your still there, and doing fine.

Once in an old post to 12footer you mentioned you could do a schematic for a DVA adapter. If you still have it, I would appreciate a copy very much, as I only have an ordinare digital multimeter. Miss all your good advice.

Re: Hailing Schematic

I'm also very interested in seeing it.

A year or so ago I built one for myself. It's basically a peak detector with some stuff thrown on it. I started with this schematic:
http://www.discovercircuits.com/PDF-FILES/peakdet1.pdf
Modifications were to make the left hand capacitor's value higher to suit the lower frequencies you expect. And a resistor divider on the front end to suit the voltages (I used 220k and 2.2k to form a 100:1). Finally I put a 7v zener between the input and ground for over voltage and reverse polarity protection.

Since the circuit can only see positive pulses, you have to flip the input probes and test both ways. But that's hardly a limitation in practice. You could simply put a bridge rectifier on the front-end if you wanted.

Good to see you around here again schematic! Still got the P/N for the solid state Chrysler regulator for Johnson/Evinrude generators?
