Half dash works....the other half doesn't?

I have a 1989 vision vip boat with a 1989 force 125 on it. I bought the boat about a year ago and everything was working fine on it. Well late last summer it was out in the rain on a drive home from the lake and ever since part of the accessories that are hooked up to the dash have not worked. Those are the navigation lights, horn, and bilige pump. The speedo, tach, and gas gauge work just fine as well as the ignition itself. Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on with the rest of this stuff? I have checked the fuses behind the dash and those were fine. All of the wires look fine. Check how the instruments are hooked to positive and negative power. Alot of times the manufacturer loops the fedd from the battery through multiple gauges. If there is a short in one of the gauges then no other gauges after that one will work. Best way to tell is to trace all the wires and disconnect instruments one by one to see if the others start working.

Rage has the right idea you will have to trace everything back. Just looking at the problem and throwing my thoughts back it would seem that all the engine instrumentation is working it is only ancilliary power that is lost. In my boat the engine side (instuments, guages etc) are fed from the engine wiring loon usually on a loom that leads out of the control box. The ancialliary stuff is usually supplied from a seperate power source invariably through a fuse box from the batteries. Check this out and then try to prove whether you have supply power to the fuse board then if you have output at the fuses. Fuse boards sometimes have a common bus bar on the live (+ve), and this may have become unsoldered. Good luck.<br />Andy
