Half Side of Trailer Lights InOP

All of a sudden Half of my trailer lights stopped working. Any Ideas why?

I'm thinking loose connection at the plug.

One of these style test lights is a 'must have' for your tool crib.

All you have to do is have the trailer, and the trailer plug, connected to the tow vehicle...turn on the parking lights, and the emergency flashers...ground the test light to the trailer...and 'poke' the three colored wires (brown, green, and yellow) on the trailer side of the plug in. All three should give you a 'test light'. If they 'light', then move to the rear of the trailer and try all three wires again. When you find the wire that doesn't test as 'hot', you know which wire has been compromised.

If they all check out as far as the lights, then it's time to check for decent grounds [white wire(s)]. 95% of the time, the problem will be a poor ground.

By half do you mean one side?? If so, bad ground would be my first guess.

YES One side of the Lights stop working and the other side does.

By the way...I picked up one of these at NAPA, and carry it in the truck.

You plug this into the truck's plug, and the LED's verify that your tow vehicle plug is in good working condition.

The test light I mentioned above will also check the truck wires going to the plug, but this is much easier to use...especially at the ramp!
