My anchor bolt at the base of my trim cylinders on my mercruiser has lost most of its threads to corrosion.I just found this out and I am launching this week. The nut tightens but not all the way.I am going to use a temporary fix like marine tex on the end of the bolt so the nut will not back off or jb weld or 5200.Dont have time to fix it right at this time.all suggestions are welcome. Thanks Charlie By the way the bolt is also frozen in place .

Good question.I always thought a helicoil was for the inside of stripped threads where a bolt was going in.I dont know if it works the opposite way.I will chech it out .Thanks.Charlie
