I am looking for a floor plate the fits over the step going into the cabin on a 1990 Hampton 22. I've seen them in wood and fiberglass. Anybody know what I mean?

I'm new at this posting, so I don't know how or if I'll get any reply.

Thanks.

Re: Hampton 22 Help

i know the piece your talking about. I'm actually repairing mine as the top side teak laminate is coming off in one corner. If I were you, I'd get a piece of 3/4" plywood and cut out a piece to fit there. Either urethane it or shelac it to seal it or even better, go to a marine store, purchase some fiberglass material and cover it with fiberglass....then paint it.
I'm a carpenter and always updating and fixing my 1989 Hampton. That is on my list of things to replace!
If you need dimensions, let me know and I'll email them to you.
good luck.:)

Re: Hampton 22 Help

Thanks for your idea. I did just that, and it works fine. Now I have another problem. The hull leaks under the rub rail. I removed the upholstery from the v-birth walls and determined the leak is all along the seam where the upper hull is attached to the lower hull (right behind the rub rail). The rail is hard rubber and difficult to remove. I've caulked the outside, but water still finds a way to leak thru that seam during a rain.

Any ideas?
