I had a hand crank trolling motor growing up but my dad kept insisting they were oars....
Seriously, I've never seen or heard of such a contraption though the confederates used something similar in a submarine? (there I go again, sorry).
Honestly, I don't have a clue but have a buddy who collects really old outboards and I'll show him the pics and see if we come up with something for you.
