1992 Yamaha ProV 150 P150TLRQ
Motor starts hard on cold starts. Is there a trick to where I shoudl throttle it so I dont rev it so high everytime?? I have currently been pumping bulb, Engage fast idle, then start, choking it as I turn the key. IT usually wont start until I start moving the fast idle speed forward then it does start, however the rpms are very high. Once running for a few seconds it idles down to neutral really well.
Warm starts are effortless, barely turn the key with throttle in neutral position and it fires right up.
Anyone have any suggestions on cold starts to minimize the high rpm revs when firing cold???
Thanks.

Re: Hard Cold Starts

Is this a recent developement, or has it been a problem all along? I see you're in Minnestoa and they're all really hard to start this time of year. Try giving it no throttle as you choke it until it fires and floods out. Then give it no choke and some throttle. Otherwise I'd say it's more technique than mechanical problem.
