I live in southeast Texas, our winters are very mild, so mild in fact I’ve never had to winterize my boat before. Neither has anyone else I know in my fishing community. Everyone fishes pretty much all year around as our winters are typically in 50s during the days and 40s at the coldest, if we drop below 40 it’s usually overnight. However for the first time since 1997 we’re predicted to be in the teens and twenties for a 48 hour period with 100% chance of rain. Freezing everything, is there anything I need to worry about? Anything I should prep for? Boat is stored outside I don’t have a cover because it’s usually in the water two to three days a week and gets a good wash after every trip anyway.

What motor are you asking about?

Year-round fishing sounds like an outboard, which is self draining when trimmed down. Make sure the lower unit lube has no water in it.
