I have a 30HP 1994 Evinrude outboard and it seems that everytime I take her out she starts fine and I can troll around and fish. The minute I decide to anchor and fish for awhile and attempt to continue on, she doesn't want to start. The only way I can get her to start is to disconnect the fuel hose and start her up that way (realizing its flooded). Why is that? <br />The second part of my question is that recently I opened her up all the way and I can't go to full throttle.. only half is what I can manage. I've changed the spark plugs, cleaned the fuel filter and I just recently replaced with new fuel. Can anyone help?

You might actually check to see that your fuel line connection is tight. If the clamp is loose around either connection (tank or motor) constant fuel pressure will be hard to maintain. When you pump the ball, does it get firm or does it remain soft? If it remains soft that may be the problem.

Sounds like you have crude in the carburetor and it is time to rebuild it. When you take the carburetor apart, check the fuel bowl. If it is full of black crude, your fuel lines are likely degrading because of the ethanol in the gas today. Probably best to change them to alcohol resistant lines.
