hard starting and idle

I have a 1987 evinrude 110. It's very hard to start. It needs alot of priming and when it does start it stalls at idle. It run very good at all other power settings. Any help would be great

Start with a compression test. The compression numbers (ideally) should be within 10%, or so, of each other. Next check the spark on each cylinder. It should be bright blue and lively. Check the condition of the spark plugs. Be sure you are running fresh fuel. These tests don't cost much and are a good way to begin your diagnosis.
