1997 Johnson Ocean Runner225HP
Motor is cutting off at idle. Went to fuel up and cannot keep fuel hose inside without it clipping off like if it has full tank. Could this be my problem? I read something about Anti-syphon valve?

Sounds like a plugged up tank vent to me, Abobo.

Re: Hard time fueling up.

Thanks JB. I replace the vent valve and checked hose. I still could not put gas this morning without getting gas coming out of vent and fueling hose kepted shutting off. Had to gas up with very lttle pressure going in so that it would not cut off supply and/or come out of vent valve. Would really apreciate any thoughts. I have always read all the post but this is the first time I actually need advise.
Thanks to all that will help and offer insight with this problem.

How about the fuel fill hose? Does it have a kink?

Does it have a bend with one end lower than the other? If so, that will do it.

Re: Hard time fueling up.

I took it apart today and all looks well. It could be that the fuel fill hose just cannot take the pressure because of the elbow bend at the beginning of connection. If you have an opportunity please read the post I have regarding a ticking sound on my engine.
Thanks for your reply.
