Hard to Find Impellers?

I have an OMC 460 King Cobra engine, and a Bravo II outdrive. My machanic changed my impeller last spring, and gave me two new sets of new impellers for my boat to keep, and told me that it is getting harder to get these parts. Is this true? What can I do in the future after these spears are gone?

Never heard of a Bravo II mated to an OMC 460 before?? So where is the raw water pump, in the drive or engine mounted belt driven?

Re: Hard to Find Impellers?

The OMC 460's never came with an engine mounted raw water pump, so it's not an omc part, and the Bravo drive never came with a raw water pump in it either. So it's not Mercrusier.
What ever you have will have to be Identified by pictures. Probably your best bet would be to remove it an head for a marine store and try to match it up with pictures.
Might even try going to the Jabsco and Johnson pumps websites and seeing if you can find them.
Maybe even ask the mechanic that installed it.
