Hard to start at th begining.

Hello.<br /><br />I have 2002 Merc 9.9 electric start. I have a hard time starting my mtr at first start, I will have to try close to 10 times before it atarts. After that, it will start at first or second try.It only hard to start at the begining, after that wil be okay. The mtr had about 90 hours on it.Since i have the moter. I decarbed a few times with seaform deep creep that seems to help. after let the boat sits for afew weeks then will be hard to start. Thank you.

Check your choke to be sure it is operating correctly.

I agree with the choke operation, also you may want to check and see if there is fule in your fule filter before you try to start the engine. It may be that its dry at start up...

Hello,<br /><br />when I prim the choke i hear it squir the feul into carvb and I know that a feul filter has some gas in it every time. How do I chk the choke operation?<br /><br />Thank you.
