Okay, I went to start up my engine to flush it out after I went to the lake the other day. BUT the engine would fire up then just die without warning. I was trying to figure out why the engine ran great at the lake all day, but now its not working at all. The engine would crank as if to start, then it would catch and fire up for about 5 or 10 seconds....then DIE! It sucked.

THEN, as I was cussing at my self for about 25 minutes, I decided to check the flush muffler that I use almost every time I fire up the engine. I noticed I had it on there pretty tight, so I loosened it. Tried to fire it up and YES! It fired right up and stayed running....

Soooo, as a new boater I realized that I had the muffler on the end of the prop too tight and the exhaust wasnt able to release. Kinda like putting a banana in a tail pipe, is what I'm assuming.

Anyone else have this problem?
