Hard to start Evenrude

I have a 1989 XP150 Evenrude that is hard to start when it is cold. After it has cranked, the rest of the day it will crank just hitting the starter. Any ideas on how to make it easier to crank cold? Thanks

try choking it. i have a 85 .115 evinrude and mine is the same way.pump up the fuel bulb, turn the key to the on psotion and push it in for about 8 seconds. then try turning the key over. should fire right up

Thanks for the reply, I'll try that. Someone told me to push key in 3 times and then hold it in while turning over engine. I guess I should have included that in first post. I'll try your way<br />the other way sure does not work. Thanks again
