2000 90HP Johnson. new steering cable but when disconnected can barely turn motor by hand. How in the world do you lubricate that mid section steering shaft?

Speaking generically; I'm pretty sure you will find grease fitting(s) near where it pivots.

Well let me :welcome: you to iboats, tegyhazi. Nice to have you join us...

I am not sure about your engine setup, but a lot of OBs have friction adjustments for the mid-section. It is usually a screw type adjustment that applies more or less pressure to the mid-section shim-like halves located in the mid sections to make it so if you are tiller steering it stays where you turn it. So check to see if there is a screw adjustment type screw, maybe even with a coil spring around it. If so that could be your problem being too tight. Worth a look see. JMHO! :noidea:
