Re: Hardwood floors?

I don't know what they charge for hardwood, but I just got a price for tile installation and it was one thousand dollars(7.50 a foot and I buy the tile) for a 10 X 13' kitchen area. I'm going to install Bellawood myself and save some bucks. I thought about pricing the wood installation, but it seems like a pretty straight forward job. Worst part to me is the prep. I think 5.00 a square foot would be a good starting point for installation...

Re: Hardwood floors?

Here's some math for you
Material cost of 2.50 x sq feet charge 2x's material cost
cost 5.00 ....same as material charge for labour
cost 7.50... 1/4 cost of material charge for labour
When you figure out your sq feet ,you can adjust for what you think would be fair above is about the going rate

Re: Hardwood floors?

I have put down about 1200 Sq ft and from that job i would say i depends on were its going :) and what kind of subfloor

In the big open room it was fast when i did a long hallwaya and closets that you pretty much could not use the hand nailer( No ROOM to swing ) It really used up hours

Also i used Burce and a LOT of material was bowed in some boxes which also killed a lot of time
