Been there done that several years ago...Lot's of fun but also comes with lot's and lot's of boats and unfortunately booze...Fireworks end and you'd think someone dropped a flag for the race to start...on a largely unlit river..It is in a word freightening. Leave children at home for safety sake...

Well I've heard horror stories like that too. But I might just stay there on a hook, and leave in the morning. Thanks for the heads up though :)

Not a bad idea..!! If your really up for a show that rival any fireworks and boating fun you definitely need to check out the Groton / New London show put on by Foxwoods Resorts and the Gucchy brothers..Plan to stay on the hook for the same reason but you will be spectator to 2 fully loaded barges stock full of pyrotechnics that will blow you away...Just stay out of the transit zones that are clearly marked and you will be no more than 100 yards from the action...The concussion from the blasts is utterly astounding and not soon forgotten. In a word....wow....

Do you go to the Groton fireworks? Do you know when they are this year? I'm sure I can find out. I heard they're VERY good.

They are scheduled for the 14th....Get there no later than 2:00 in the afternoon so you won't have any problems getting a hook set close to the action..Bring your grill and enjoy the sites, it's amazing...

I'll be there, traveling over from Watch Hill, RI on a 31 Tiara called Sea Wench..Give me a shout on 9 if you go..
