Hi, has anyone ever heard of this boating company?? I know they do not have a discussion forum on iboats about the company. I used to own an old 1978 15' Demcraft Classette 150 BR. The boat needed a new 85 HP outboard as well as the steering fixed (plus a little electrical work and a new bilge). Suprisingly, this boat was the NICEST and had the LEAST amount of problems that I have seen on an old Demcraft so far (mine actually still had the paint on it!!) . When I see a used Demcraft, it is usually sitting in a field or someones overgrown backyard with a huge list of problems. Usually they need the engine replaced, as well as the transom, interior, lighting, and any other thing that can go wrong on a powerboat, but are Demcrafts really nice boats after all ?? Does anyone on the iboat forum own or have ever owned a running Demcraft boat?? They are neat little classics (tri-hulls and old laminated wood accents; I mean they would be a NEAT boat to restore.) I just dont see them as much as the old Mark Twains and Sea Rays (although the company did go out of buisness in 1980). Does anyone have one??

Thanks!!

I now this a really old post, but I have a 16' 1972 Demcraft that has a Johnson Sea Horse 60HP. Although pretty sound, I have recently discovered some drip leaks through one of the lower bolts that secures the motor on. More than likely from the Transom getting old. Other than that it still keeps going. Needs some attention to the hull one day as parts of the gel coat have eroded. Between the Gel Coat and the Transom it may not be worth fixing up correctly. Gel coat would be an easy $800+ and the Transom about the same.
