Re: Has anyone ever used an "Interferential pain stimulator"??
One of my daughters is a Physical Therapist, Darth.

Years ago I had terrible pain in the muscles of my upper back from guarding a cervical radiculopathy (spinal pinched nerve problem). The Doc wanted surgery to fuse several cervical vertebrae.

At that time a device like the one you mention was popular in treating chronic pain (I don't remember what they called it, but it was an electrical stimulation interference device).

A manufacturer came to Alice and asked her to field trial a more sophisticated device that used modulated radio frequency pulses. She asked me if I wanted to give it a try.

Within hours I got relief and gradually reduced the strength and frequency of the stimulation. Within a few days I was pain free. Alice identified the postures that were causing the guarding and I eliminated those from my behavior.

I don't know what is causing your pain, but electrical interference stimulation works in reducing it. The real solution, of course, is to identify and eliminate the cause.

Good luck.
