Hi EZ,
I'm fairly new to iboats, and am impressed with the amount of infromation available!! I have a 1986 SS160 that I will be doing a 'minor' restoration on. The exterior needs little or no work; no dents, no dings etc. The motor, however is a different story. It is a 1986 70 hp Johnson, VRO. It has one scored cylinder, so at least will need one bored out. I am leaning toward a total rebuild. I have rebuilt several automotive engines, and a few years ago a Mercruiser 120, all with great success. I am really looking forward to doing this one!!
My question is, has anyone ever heard of WSM gaskets & pistons? There is a seller on e-Bay (premiermarineparts) that has complete kits at a very resonable cost, but I am not as familiar with that brand as say, Sierra Felpro or GLM. The seller claims 100+ rebuilds over the last 19 years or so. Anyone have an opinion?
Thanks for your knowledge and input.
