trihull without bulkheads?

Im currently restoring a '79 chrysler striper. Transoms done about to start stringers. The boat had no bulkheads when i got it. Just a couple of 2x6s(i believe) cutting across from one stringer to the other at the top of the stringers. Anybody have any suggestions? Should i put a couple bulheads in or couple short pieces like i found in it or leave it to the 2 stringers? The boats 15ft long, 11ft stringers 6in tall at the tallest point. Any input would be appreciated.

rebuild the structure like it was. it lasted 40 years the way it was, after you rebuild it, it will last another 40 years

Im not sure it was like that factory. I seen some pretty crappy glasswork under the floor. Any pics ive seen online dont show the stringers and ive seen read alot of people saying dont use structural lumber. Hopefully someone that knows these boats will chime in. If not im gunna stick to the 2 stringers

People rebuild boats better than they were originally. crappy glass work, yup that's a Chrysler.. Making your stringers out of laminated plywood can be lighter/ stronger than dimensional lumber but for sure boats were built with dimensional lumber.

Chrysler marine division was one of the reasons that Chrysler needed a bailout and Lee Iacocca had to save them. 1979 was near the end.

Im restoring my '79 chrysler striper and wondering if there were any bulkheads from the factory. Mine just had the 2 stringers and a couple 2x4s in one spot laying across the stringers but i doubt thats original. Has anyone had one ripped apart?

I have a 1979 striper as well and just tore the deck off and was laughing when I saw the short and stubby 1x6's in 4 places about 24" on center from each other starting at the front of the bilge box. Made me scratch my head and wonder huh....
