They're great for storage by getting rods out of the way while still being handy but don't troll with it if you want to keep that bimini

Good thing you said that lol I was thinking of putting 1 rod up there for trolling for stripers in the fall (slow troll) nothing heavy on it. Plus i'd leave the drag real light.

Nah...that don't work too well. I have used them to free-line a live bait (open bail) while bottom fishing. Other than that it great transit stowage.

My buddy added a half canopy to his Parker wheelhouse and it came with the launcher on it. The aluminum just can't take the load. Try it by putting a rod in it and simulating a good strike. Once the horizontal tubes get bent, it's toast.

This is very true thanks man. Even though its just enough drag to keep the line still there is always some drag on it so I can see where things could go a miss..

Those rod holders are great, especially if you're using different rods and rigs for different fish and you have lots of rods on board, But remember to take 'em down passing under low bridges, just like radio antennas. Might take 'em down during a lightning storm also!

All the bridges we will be going under sit really high but lighting everything will be down and I'll be well on the way to the docks....

Those rocket launcher rod holders attached to the Bimini is something new to me, but I doubt from the looks of 'em they're designed for trolling. Don't know about different brands, but how different can they be? Good Luck!

To be honest with you I never seem them before either. There seems to be only 3 makers of these things. Two of which are on ebay the other being carver are the most expensive at almost $300. Crazy thing is they all are made of anodized aluminum and have plastic mounting hardware so I'm guessing there really is no difference.
